Scissor Lifts
Vehicle loading and Dock lifts. Compatible with pallets, roll cages, pallet trucks, man riders and fork lift trucks.
Power-Lifts lift tables are highly engineered products, custom made in a purpose built factory that is dedicated to the design and manufacture of scissor lift tables. We manufacture to the highest standards expected by industry sectors such as aero-space, food, health, nuclear, off-shore, rail and auto-motive industry sectors. Power-Lifts scissor lifting tables are mostly constructed to conform to European Standards, including the Machinery Directive and in particular BS EN 1570 'Code of Practice for the Safety requirements for lifting tables'. One of our company directors is a member of a National standards advisory panel that put together this code of practice. Our lift tables can also be manufactured in various grades of stainless steel and galvanised carbon steel, or customer choice combinations to suit the environmental working conditions.
Scissor lifts are also known as platform lifts, lifting platforms, working platforms or simply, lift tables. These lift tables differ from MEWPs (Mobile Elevating Work Platforms) in that they generally lift large loads (up to 100 tonnes) through relatively short distances - typically up to 3 metres (more in special cases). Power-Lifts have supplied lifts up to 17 metres long. MEWPs, on the other hand, tend to be designed to lift small loads - up to 500kgs or 2 or 3 men, through larger distances for access purposes. Lift tables from Power-Lifts are supplied with the EU CE mark as a Certificate of Conformity to the Machinery Directive or with the EU Declaration of Incorporation for clients who will be integrating one of our lift tables within a system or machine.
Having manufactured over 100,000 units since the 1970's Power-Lifts has an extensive range of standard and bespoke lift tables, most of which can be modified to meet customer specific needs.
Power-Lifts offer their lift tables with a wide range of optional features to suit customer needs. Some of the more common extra requirements include smooth or slip resisting tear pattern deck plates, access hatches over power packs and cylinders, lifting eye bolts, auto-rising wheel / roll-off stops coming out of the platform, handrails, barriers and gates, goal posts, loading flaps, bridge plates and turn-tables. For safety purposes galvanised mesh curtains, pvc bellows guards and roller blinds can be fitted under lifts to restrict ingress to the under sides. Lifts can be fitted onto castors, wheels or pallet style base-frames for easier mobility.
Usually our lift tables are powered by electro-hydraulic power packs, 3 phase, single phase, 12 and 24 volts D.C.. In special circumstances some Power-Lift scissor lift tables can be actuated by air motors, air bags, push / rigid chain, trapezoidal thread, spindle or belt drives.
Vehicle loading and Dock lifts. Compatible with pallets, roll cages, pallet trucks, man riders and fork lift trucks.
A standard lift design that provides the equivalent of about 60% of the platform length as stroke. Typically these will be used as work stations to reduce MSDs, for pallet handling and where stability is important.
Generally used for handling long loads which only need relatively small changes in height. Typical applications include sheet material stacking and de-stacking as well as board and pipework handling.
Usually used to provide increased stroke when space is at a premium. Multi-stage lifts can have up to six scissor arm sets assembled one on top of another. Typical applications include Mezzanine access
Also hot dipped galvanised. For hostile environments, inc. chlorine. Totally enclosed box section .Bead blasted surface. Recommended for food industry use.
These are specified when the end user chooses not to place the lift in a pit and in some pallet handling operations.
Power-Lift custom build lifting platforms for use as platform lifts, goods lifts, goods – passenger lifts, disabled access lifts & wheelchair lifts for the mobility impaired.
The Liftboy is the optimal solution where a conventional wheelchair ramp would be too steep or too long or in a building where a lift or stair lift is unnecessary due to too small a difference in elevation.
These can vary from simple lifts on castors, through to lifts on rails or as part of an AGV.
Perimeter safety edge to the underside edges of the platform to stop descent of the lift and prevent crushing or shearing if the safety sensors encounter an obstruction.
Maintenance safety props to mechanically support the lift in a raised position for access to the undersides.
Host burst / descent arrestor valves in the cylinders to stop the lift from having an uncontrolled descent if a hydraulic hose fails.
Safe clearances between fixed and moving parts – in particular gaps between the scissor arm sets so that they are not literally scissors.
